Skreikampen

With its 698 meters, Skreikampen is Eidsvoll's highest peak. From the top there is a panoramic view east and north in Hedmark. On clear days you can see all the way to Rondane. 

There are several paths to the top. The easiest path goes from Øverbygda. At the start there are quite a few uphills, you have to climb 300 meters in altitude. About halfway through the hike, at Johannesgruva, it is nice to take a break. Further on the forest opens up and it alternates between bog terrain and more barren forest. 

You can also follow Kolldalsvegen further up to reach the top. Follow the road for about 1 km, then signpost towards Skreikampen on the right. 

Skreikampen has a very special place in Henrik Wergeland's poetry. In the poem "A songful summer morning on Skreia" he describes the view from Skreikampen. There is a plaque at the top of Skreikampen about this.
